I changed my mind on the background. It will now be the 2 wolves sitting on a tree covered slope in the fall.
I blocked in the base colours to cover all the snow I had painted. It's too late to go on tonight. The picture will lighten as I paint the fallen leaves and fir trees around the wolves. I still have to keep the basic picture shapes and dark lines from the original panel. That will show more as I paint the trees.
